1 Leave a comment on paragraph 1 0 The other evening,
at a newly discovered restaurant
(very close to home – but discovered online)
we were enjoying a fantastic meal,
while a guitar/singer and saxophone played,
and I was at peace.

2 Leave a comment on paragraph 2 0 WHEN,
I had a disturbing thought:

3 Leave a comment on paragraph 3 0 This is just like it was for those on the Titanic.
No Worries. Fun Moments.
Our Future Secure.

5 Leave a comment on paragraph 5 0 Today, many humans also live comfortably,
they don’t feel threatened,
even if they have conceptual knowledge of our
CRISIS-of-CRISES.

6 Leave a comment on paragraph 6 0 Too many other humans do feel threatened,
and their lives are far from comfortable.
They struggle within a Crisis,
having no knowledge of a Crisis-of-Crises.

7 Leave a comment on paragraph 7 0 I have no knowledge about the distribution of
knowledge about Climate Change within the population,
and what they have heard about the consequences.

8 Leave a comment on paragraph 8 0 I would wager that most persons well aware
of the potential for Abrupt Climate Catastrophe, and
who believe they are activists for this cause,
also live a life of comfort and no immediate threat.

9 Leave a comment on paragraph 9 0 There are some full time activists,
who perform as efficiently and effectively
as they can on relevant actions, and hopefully
with enjoyment and elegance.
[eeree]

10 Leave a comment on paragraph 10 0 Then, there are other like me,
comfortable and free of threats;
working inefficiently with little effect, enjoyment, or elegance
on what I believe is VERY RELEVANT.
I am unable to change.

11 Leave a comment on paragraph 11 0 WHAT ARE WE TO DO ?

12 Leave a comment on paragraph 12 0 *****************

13 Leave a comment on paragraph 13 0 Back to the Titanic.
Online there are sites that discuss
passengers and crew constructing flotation devices
so more could have survived.
Multiple factors made that impossible.

14 Leave a comment on paragraph 14 0 But, we know our Titanic is doomed, if we continue on course.
We do have time and competencies.
The start of runaway heating is our iceberg;
we haven’t hit is yet.
THERE IS TIME.

15 Leave a comment on paragraph 15 0 So, what is missing?

16 Leave a comment on paragraph 16 0 VISION/MISSION
&
STRATEGY

17 Leave a comment on paragraph 17 0 ****************

18 Leave a comment on paragraph 18 0 Contemporary humankind lacks the requisite competencies to survive.
<however>
Contemporary humankind now have sufficient competencies to gain
the requisite competencies for survival/thrival.

19 Leave a comment on paragraph 19 0 Contemporary humankind lacked the requites competencies
to get to our Moon in 1960.
However, we had sufficient competencies to gain
the requisite competencies to get to our Moon in a decade.

20 Leave a comment on paragraph 20 0 The VISION/MISSION we need, is in our collective BlindSpot.
We are blinded by the awesome MSC of the challenge.
[Magnitude/Scope/Complexity]

21 Leave a comment on paragraph 21 0 We are locked-into trying to stop Global Heating,
while surviving and recovering from frequent disasters.
Most effort goes into the science of climate & associated phenomena,
and technological tricks to reduce greenhouse gas concentrations.

22 Leave a comment on paragraph 22 0 Others do research, write, meet, and organize about many issues.
All are calling on our societal institutions to change and act as needed;
without considering that they many be unable to act as needed,
and unable to be changed so as to act as needed.

23 Leave a comment on paragraph 23 0 HYPOTHESIS
The contemporary organization of humankind
cannot be adequately transformed so as to act
to successfully confront our Climate Crises.

24 Leave a comment on paragraph 24 0 We probably have the potential to
technologically confront our Climate Crises,
but our Social/Societal Systems
won’t and can’t
act to implement what is needed.

25 Leave a comment on paragraph 25 0 Simulations of humankind are possible today
to test this hypothesis, but no one tries.

26 Leave a comment on paragraph 26 0 In case this hypothesis is correct,
might we not explore alternative avenues
that don’t depend on our Social/Societal Systems
(even transformed as we might try).

27 Leave a comment on paragraph 27 0 Might we actually take on the challenge to DO,
what many of the spiritual persuasion call for:
OLLO our own nu humanity
so that it provides the framework
for humans-with-humans to survive/thrive.

28 Leave a comment on paragraph 28 0 WHAT ARE WE TO DO ?
This is a QUERY – calling for extensive dialog and work,
not a QUESTION, seeking an answer
to post online, or publish in a book,
or propose an organization or project.

29 Leave a comment on paragraph 29 0 Which doesn’t mean we wait for Swarming to Synergize.
We must use all our facilities to CREATE the requisite
knowledge, competencies, insights, technologies, compassion, etc.
to learn to do what we need to do.
