¶ 1 Leave a comment on paragraph 1 0 I claim, without arrogance, to be the most realistic optimistic that I know of.  Yet, most people see me as a pessimist, always harping about THE FUTURE (which almost everyone believes will be worse than today).

•     To most people, mention of the future, either short or long term, brings on expectations of negativity.  This is natural.  The real lives of most people are filled with issues, even crises. Thinking about positive visions are usually quickly clouded by “realities”.  The daily news is very negative, with the most competent and knowledgeable facing Climate Change (and the Collapse of Civilization).
•     There are a few persons whom I feel are quite close to groking what I am trying to share here. If anyone needs to be faulted about their actions it would be me, who functions at about 5% efficiency in relation to what I could actually be doing (within an augmenting team).

¶ 3 Leave a comment on paragraph 3 0 There are a few persons I would call “naive optimists”. Barbara Marx Hubbard is my exemplar. They feel good about the future because they believe it is essential that they do so – as feeling POSITIVE makes positives happen.  They invent belief systems to justify, to their minds, their optimism in the face of contemporary reality that is strong on pessimism or neutrilism.

¶ 4 Leave a comment on paragraph 4 0 For over five decades I have championed the perspective that humankind could not only transcend their Crisis-of-Crises, but begin the multi-millennial evolution/emergence of a nu Humanity in collaboration with a nu Gaia.  This is a scientifically based vision/mission.

¶ 5 Leave a comment on paragraph 5 0 This is more than a vision (a goal state), it is a generative mission/scenario of actions by humans that will actualize its manifestation. It is not a Utopian dead-end nor a mechanistically programmed future that can easily be dismissed.  Few people see both the theoretical and practical sides of Larry (practical in making big things happen – as well as what will enable each person to be competent).

¶ 6 Leave a comment on paragraph 6 0 And, it is proposed that the moment the activity begins for what I called EaseMen  [Expedition to Augment the Synergistic EcoHolarchical Metamorphic Emergence of Noosphere (NU)] , the suffering of humankind will begin to decrease – possibly more rapidly than by any other proposal; and the uplift in competencies and well-being of humans will rapidly improve. These positives will occur because EaseMen enables persons to create their own fully supportive communities even in the midst of collapsing civilization – by providing them with the requisite competencies and knowledge.  From 2009.

¶ 7 Leave a comment on paragraph 7 0 That EaseMen is optimistically positive for both short and long term has yet to be comprehended (let along accepted) by anyone, as no person has been willing to devote the time and effort to study EaseMen   A few have read a few papers about EaseMen and UPLIFT, but evidence of non comprehension is the lack of motivation to assist in bringing EaseMen to reality.  Some offer to assist Larry, but don’t offer to be participants.  It remains for Larry alone to catalyze EaseMen, even when he claims that it will require at least a quality cyber-crew.

¶ 8 Leave a comment on paragraph 8 0 Most of this is due to the inadequacy of Larry’s presentations and the neo-hypnotic state of most humans today (not excluding Larry). A tension appears to paralyze.  A tension between: (1) deep felt failure to fully acknowledge the critical dysfunction of contemporary humankind, structurally incapable of reform and (2) deep emotional belief in that what they are currently doing will eventually be sufficient and thus defensively blind to the need that more and different are needed.  This condition is aggravated by the extreme difficulty humans have in changing their basic life-styles (an example of extreme addiction).  The full NEED must be acknowledged before the full ACTION will be undertaken. Watered down need leads to watered down actions.

¶ 9 Leave a comment on paragraph 9 0 Thus, to many, Larry is viewed as a pessimist, constantly harping on the dangers of the future – which few want to hear more of.  Most  don’t accurately hear Larry – he never repeats the negative news (for the sake of sharing the news) but attempts to interpret it as evidence that something more is needed if we are to move towards a better, optimistic, future.  This subtlety is missed by most, especially by those part of the “community” within which Larry lives.

¶ 10 Leave a comment on paragraph 10 0 The asymmetry of good/bad is seldom acknowledged or accounted for.  Really bad things occur in short, tragic happenings, or can be seen unfolding in real time – and are thus great fodder for the daily news. Really good things evolve slowly in time, effecting many people – and are not well suited for modern media news.  In conversation it is more likely that bad things will be discussed than good things.

¶ 12 Leave a comment on paragraph 12 0 Larry has many viable ideas how to catalyze EaseMen into emergence – starting with a small group.  At this time he lets himself be blocked by the oppressive attitudes of those in his immediate household who – for different reasons – refuse to permit him to share his vision/mission with them.  They KNOW he is a frustrated, angry, pessimist and their BELIEF is beyond changing.  On The Internet, Larry’s harping about how what others are doing is not sufficient is probably not useful, especially when he claims that contemporary social media is not an adequate platform to share “his” ideas. Arrogance?

¶ 13 Leave a comment on paragraph 13 0 Should Larry seek a new, and supportive living situation?  But where?  What should Larry do differently on The Internet, and what he is doing on his own computers? Larry is reluctant to make these decisions by himself as he is fully aware of his limitations.

¶ 14 Leave a comment on paragraph 14 0 Is Larry mad, is he deluded in believing he has savant characteristics that gave him the gift/burden of seeing a way for humankind/Gaia to transcend?
