1 Leave a comment on paragraph 1 0 An honest query: How much of this exciting looking discipline: ADAPTIVE AI3 do I need to comprehend and follow? Even with 2 PhDs under my belt, I recognize that this site would be like a freshman wandering into a final year graduate seminar. I can’t even get started from the home page.

With fortitude, this can be done. I entered my graduate program in Educational Psychology having never taken even one undergraduate course in psychology. My very first course was an advanced research seminar in psycholinguists, where we attempted to unpack Chomsky’s recently published book, Syntactic Structures.  AI3 looks even more daunting.

3 Leave a comment on paragraph 3 0 I am very well aware of many, many domains where I have no expertize, nor do I need it to do what I am trying to do. I can trust experts in those domains to do what is needed. Yet, since my work is attempting to weave Beyond Big Pictures, and bandy about terms like Semiotic Structures (SEMS, as part of my model) I feel that I may be missing something essential for my part of our puzzle. I even believe that somewhere in the core of our emergence lies a dynamic complementarity of existential and process ontologies. I know that given the time and tutoring I could learn as much as I need about AI3, but there are so many things we need to do and we must be selective.

4 Leave a comment on paragraph 4 0 This opens to a more general issue, the distribution of knowledge among populations. Having been part of a college committee trying to establish a CORE CURRICULUM for all students I am deeply aware of the quagmire to be avoided. The absolute minimum from each discipline added up to a full 10 years of study – for a 2-year AA degree.

5 Leave a comment on paragraph 5 0 This core must go “beyond knowledge” – a topic itself emergent.  How do we know what is core essential – or even if there is a basic core? One of my themes is “WHAT’S MISSING?” – specifically what may be core essential that no one (or only a few are aware of).

6 Leave a comment on paragraph 6 0 Had I the time I would really like to explore AI3, as the website looks very well constructed. Unfortunately, my list of such sites is already in the hundreds and I fear could grow exponentially if I chose to seek out all such relevant sites. How do you expert curators keep sane?

Keeping sane as an amateur curator certainly does present its challenges – however, the fear of eternal ignorance keeps me motivated, and the truly relevant information is irresistible enough to actually be whole heartedly engaged with and synthesised into an ever evolving understanding of an ever increasingly BIG picture.
